It's been a rough five days for us both. Breastfeeding hasn't come as easily as I had hoped it would. I've been so disappointed about it and exhausted - I didn't realize I hadn't even taken the time to admire you much or pull you close and soak in your newness, so I did just that while Papa cooked us dinner. You deserve the very best and I'm determined to give it to you.
The first time breastfeeding can be so hard, please don't be hard on yourself. I remember when I had my first, I sat up with him at night crying my eyes out because I was so sore, he slept so poorly, and I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. Hang in there, at around 6 weeks it gets so much easier. In the meantime, if you haven't already, having a certified lactation consultant check baby's latch would be a very good idea.
